considering that all of quake 2's source code is less then 6 MB it could very well be 1/3 of the code.

iirc id isn't making q4, they are making the doom 3 engine which q4 uses, but some other game maker is is making q4.

i don't think they would use ray tracing in those models, unless they are rendering reflextions in the eyes.
