Cycles of periodic highs and lows of intelligence

I s'pose it will be rather random to create a thread like this, but what is there not to like about something random? For one, random things have an origin, even if the origin was a thought that commanded a random thing, like this thread. Anyway, I'll cease my series of disconnected notions...

    Man I feel guilty

This. Because I was unable to make the distinction that work and school were not the most important things, I was in for some emotional trouble later. A day out of class won't hurt too much. Sometimes you know that it isn't exactly appealing to go in for class. As long as you don't go to...

    AGING FU**ING REVERSED

I guess I kinda implied that our lives and accomplishments derive value only because time is finite. But to be more clear, the fact that time is a limiting factor in the span of a lifetime makes our lives and accomplishments all the more valuable, since we are under pressure to worker harder and...

    AGING FU**ING REVERSED

But then you also need to take into account the mentality of people who've lived too long. If many things happen in the lifetime of a healthy, illuminated person -such that said person could "die in peace" after having experienced many things-wouldn't they also feel the need to explore other...

    Getting a midi keyboard

I'm of the opinion that when it comes to traditional musical instruments, articulation is everything. If you go from acoustic piano to cheap keyboard, the first thing that will feel wrong is that you don't have the freedom to articulate staccato, legato, or slurs. With that in mind, you going...

    Exercises for controlling your thoughts..

I looked over the books my dad (somewhat compulsively) buys to see if book you're saying was there, but found a different one instead. (The one I found was The Brain That Changes Itself.) Nonetheless, it also deals with neuroplasticity, and I'm finding it to be a good read, like Oliver Sack's...

    Dance-punk/electrohouse suggestions

What exactly makes something hipster these days, anyway? I was under the impression that the word hipster is one of those overused catchall phrases to describe something.

20 year old girl is now police chief of drugwar-infested mexican town

Just to clarify, the article says she's police chief of Guadalupe, which is a smaller town east of Juarez. She's actually studying in Juarez and being police chief in Guadalupe, however that works out. But yes. It's depressing, and also a shame how the drug problem in Mexico is being handled.
