Great video as always! What's the music at the end? It has a lot more Wub Wub then I would expect from ValveTime. (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.)
Love how the instruction Manuel is in the style of those 2.5D Bendy people from the Portal 2 trailers. I'm also intrigued on what major movie studios got there hands on a developer kit, and what they plan to create for VR. Exciting times for sure!
Has she made anything worth playing? Honestly whenever I hear her name brought up it's usually because she's complaining about something rather than about any game she's made.
I could see Valve giving out those Golden Camera Wards to the winners as a supplement for a Saxxy. I'm excited to see what videos will sprout from this and maybe I'll finally learn how SFM works and upload an entry of my own.
It's an interesting concept, but poorly implemented with sloppy execution. Reading through Gabe's AMA answers I think they genuinely had good intentions going in, but did a poor job showing that.
Yeah it is really low.
The thing about Dota 2 and TF2 are both free games with built-in shops so the idea of paid was more acceptable there. Raising the million dollar question of if Bethesda just made Skyrim free forever, would the outcry be as large?
I believe that Bethesda does indeed take the majority share and not Valve, which is about roughly 45-55% of all sales. I agree the ratio is crap imho, it seems we are giving more money to the publisher rather than the content creators who made the mods in the first place. Though apparently Valve...
It was awesome, right? It's one of the few things that keeps getting exponentially better with it's age. Which makes it that much more heart breaking when it takes the site a year and a half to update, but man when it does update it is so worth the wait.
One thing that popped out to me right away was the lighting. It seemed a lot more sharp and detailed then anything that could be managed on Source 1, and despite being a recording of a video on a projector, the amount of detail on all the little moving parts on Atlas blew my mind.
I'm ok with this, if they show a few demos with this I'll be a satisfied clam. Needless to say they probably don't want to show-off Source 2 and HL3/L4D3 just yet so it doesn't overshadow the Steam Machines and newly revealed Steam VR and HTC Vive (or is it Re Vive?). Part of me wonders if Valve...
I don't know, it will be pretty hard to leak a VR Headset through an e-mail exploit. Though they really should give the hacker who manages to pull that off an actual job at Valve...
This is so cool! I will be completely satisfied if all we get out of GDC this year from Valve is more demos of this headset in action, anything else will probably make me explode with excitement.
If Valve and HTC manage to release this headset before Oculus and at the right price, they have the...
