I dunno why people are kidding them selves the 9800pro is just a better card admittedly not by much but a noticeable difference from the fx5900. Having owned a 5900 and sent it back for a 9800pro the 9800 is faster, better with AA AF etc, smaller, and doesn’t sound like a granny clearing her...

ive got a cheapo unbranded 17" for £200 bout 340$ and its fine, max refresh of 75hz, but if you want proness go CRT. try syncing the LCD Hz to fps it smooths out the image alot
the 4200 is a good card and i knew the first ones could be over clocked to 4600 levels in some cases, but with some stablity issues.
is your card a SE? also what is your processor speed make and Ram make/size
if you have a 2Ghz comp with some nice 512, it should get about 9000 to 11500 on...
you run your 9800 in a oven :O
they should run about the same temp as a 4600 if its burning your doing something wrong
the fx runs hotter, can just tell by the size of the heat sink, if it has a heat issue
