This debate is pointless. Everyone opposing Stern's arguments is simply spouting the same propaganda that they had shoved down their throats, and evidently don't have the ability of critical thought. Even when you beat them with logic, they will invariably fall back on their familiar arguments...
My bad :/
What would be nice is a rehaul of the weapons system. Instead of hauling like 20 weapons around with you, different weapons should become available/more effective/more plentiful with different levels. Have a couple of weapon slots, and rotate weapons. And then give me a damn kalashnikov.
Actually, Breen decided that City 17 and the citadel was a bit of a drag, and he's joined a marauding band of beatniks to perform interprative dance with vortigaunts.
It's true, Laidlaw told me. In my sleep.
Honest!
The French didn't just "surrender", they were invaded and crushed by Germany. France's military was armed with WW1 era armour, and outdated weapons. Also, the blitzkrieg tactics used by the germans were unprecedented, and brutally effective. It's not like they just said "AY HITLAR, CUM HAVE OUR...
Yeah a movie might be alright. Especially if Patton makes a cameo appearance, shish-kabobbed by a strider.
But seriously, you can't a have a Half-Life movie with Gordon as the hero period. I'm sure others have mentioned this before.
Except most Americans oppose the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and were manipulated into supporting said wars in the first place.
Wally_Breen: IRRELEVANT POST.
He's an idiot, ignore him.
I'd love to see Patton take on a strider though. You never know, maybe if the strider stomps enough people, the sheer number of corpses stuck on its legs might make it trip.
BTW, people like Crowbar are the reason the rest of the world can't stand Americans.
Alyx IS a tease, that's the whole point. It's meant to add another element to the gameplay - namely that of attraction and emotion. Gameplay is more interesting when you actually don't want the NPC's to die.
That being said, I find her mouth scary. When she smiles it covers half her face, kinda...
Regardless of the game's representation of combine soldiers, they would stomp ass. I mean realistically speaking, they're half machine, brainwashed, highly trained and well armed soldiers. Against civilians, there should be no contest.
Valve wanted to contrast the advanced combine technology with the crap we have. And 20 years into the future todays cars would seem old, but now they seem new, and because they seem new to us the effect wouldn't be the same.
