word on this. my actual wxp is 1.5 years old, reinstalled after a mayor hardware-change. as soon as you start to use your pc in a "serious" way, reformatting maybe still a great way, but it should be the ultimate way too.
some tips:
1. don't use outlook(the office one)
2. don't use ie...
reformatting ist a temp solution. and you don't know for sure if you have had a troyan on your pc.
use a tool, like "spybot - search & destroy". it identifies & removes malware, immunize your system and updates itself, and that for free.
hm, doom3 weapon's are quite solid, what did you expected from a sequel? okay, i missed an oldschool pump-action, but the biggest problem for me have been the sound-effects from pistol to machine-gun(really boring, should fire their sound-engineer). with the gatling the sounds become quite...
here in germany it's forbidden to download "from an obviously illegal source". so there in much room for discussion. nearly no chance for them to get you if it's your first time and you haven't packed your hd's with gb's of warez.
edit: in fact they prefer to get the seeders and uploaders...
:flame:
hrhrhr.
wasn't my intention to flame, only tho show this guy that he is wrong. computer games sell well trough the whole year, perhaps they even sell worse around x-mas(in the last two years around x-mas no hq-game was released).
any prooves? hm, wait, let me take a look at this years release-list...
sims2 & rise of rome : october/sept
doom3: august
thief 3: june
rise of nations addon: may
painkiller: april
farcry and ut2004: march
yeah, i see, you are right.
jop, i did say this, and i added a smiley ":-)", a common sign for "joking" or "ironic".
edit & btw: if you are talking about "licenseholder", whom did you actually mean? i thought it's all about an illegal release, which has no license-holder at all?????
if i would be an native english speaking person i would share my minor knowledges about this stuff with you. as i am not, it would be a pain to discuss, as there are buckloads of termini to explain/ive to translate(and i'm to lazy to use a dict just for posting-issues).
nothing to add here. if you think this it's the way it goes you should really start to read some serious newspapers or just watch some episodes of "law and order". :-).
??? yeah, you got the point. you can even see it in my signature, hammered in a 24pt tall font.
it's not about if they are able to, it's about if they are going to, and valve, that's my oppinion, will not sue anyone of those "smalltime"-leechers.
edit:
in the eu eula's can be...
you mustn't be an expert to see that even the try to hunt those individuals down will be quite ruinous for valve.
@impakt: do you use "tabbed-browsing"? i do, and sometimes(really rarely) i get confused and reply to the wrong thread.
"in dubio pro reo", the one who sues has to prove, not the one who is sued. comparing to cp is imho quite stupid.
"friend" is perhaps bad, say " a family member" instead, so you can't be forced to give out the name. and the pc is a family-computer with no access-regulation(aka averyone uses...
"a friend of mine came over and installed it while is was in the bathroom. as i came back, he showed me cs:s, which he has installed on my pc without my permission. i immediatly kicked hís thievy ass out of my house and deleted this illegal copy."
result: no sue, perhaps a warning, and valve...
