I bought Battlefield: Vietnam expecting an even more kick-ass version Battlefield: 1942; what I got was the worst game ever made.

Red Orchestra is on the Unreal 2.5 engine, not UE3.
Doom 3 would be the worst possible engine to put a world-war 2 game on; not only is it rather un-moddable, the engine simply can't support large out-door areas (it's even worse than Source in that aspect). And most of all, Doom 3 looks worse...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again; crosshairs are the only way to represent depth-perception in a game, and it's really not realistic without some sort of aiming reticle. And before you say "But there aren't crosshairs in real-life" remember that you don't press keys to move or look at...

If you enjoy painting and war-games, then they're worth it. The prices can be pretty steep, but if you just buy a few models here and there, it's not so bad.
Are you kidding? haven't you ever played Die by the Sword? which I believe is the only game ever made that gives you complete control over your weapon (via the mouse or keyboard).
