Valve can't deny that part of the fanbase is upset or pissed off. Something has changed. In my humble opinion, this is the Episode 3 effect. Frustration is surfacing.
Dear Valve, maybe there is the remote possibility that you are not channelling your energies in the right direction. Don't get me...
I'm still not interested.
This is so true. People usually say that reviewers are paid by the publishers (see Oblivion/Fallout 3 and all about Bethesda), so what really counts is the users score.
6-8 hours mean a very short game, this is for sure. I still want to play Portal 2, but I will wait for a price drop. At the moment, the game is too expensive, imo.
Also, please, don't call stupid a person not liking a game. Everyone is entitled to his own opinion.
What?? Less than 7 hours? That would be a *huge* letdown. All this waiting, and all this hype for a mini game that one can finish in two or three days? Let's hope it's not true.
I liked the connection with good indie games, as you know if you read my previous posts. Just one thing is bothering me: releasing the game three, two or one day early would have been a nice gesture. But a few hours?? Come on.
I don't understand the hate for a simple PR stunt. Also, this is for a just cause because, as a small indie company, you could make the best game in the world but never sell like EA or Ubi or Valve or whatever. Indie developers are always in need of visibility because their games are often seen...
Exactly. Basically, they are saying: "Are you intested in Portal 2? Well, we advise you to get these nice games for a ridiculous price, and maybe you'll get some kind of bonus on Portal 2, too. Your choice."
Nothing more than smart advertising. And targeting indie games shows that Valve cares...
I LOVE Valve for this! The more attention indie games receive, the better. Steam is really becoming the house of independent developers. More money to them!
