Well, the topic nearly says it all. I wanted to know if it is possible to install my version of HL2 on the computer of my brother, update it there and then play in LAN against him (with Steam in Offline-mode). Has anyone tried this out already?
Ok, I'm sure everybody visiting this forum has noticed that there are A LOT of beta maps going around, and all this creates confusion about which version is the newest and if it really is the final one.
On the other hand people releasing the maps are getting flamed, which I don't find good...
I was just playing some HL2DM on servers which hostet custom maps, so I wasn't surprised when the maps all had this fullbright (no lighting, everything is bright). But when it changed to lockdown I still had this fullbright thing. Attached are some screenshots as proof. However, this doesn't...
If you look at the E3 video where they are fighting the Strider in the courtyard. In the bottom right corner is a display for your squad. When one of the NPC's gets killed, his symbol becomes red. So maybe you will be able to control a squad and give them real commands and not just "Follow me"...
got this from the valve info thread... so if they say nobody has noticed yet, let's try to find it!
unfortunately he doesn't tell in what part it is... but i am going to have a close look now again...
...this guy should be the g-man:
