I've had very little issue by keeping the fps lock in place. Everything maxed and it never stutters or drops from 30, even in the batmobile. I know 30fps isn't ideal and I am looking forward to it's big patch this month but I found 30fps suitable enough to complete the game to 200%.
It's a pretty great looking game if you get lucky and your PC can run it (Ram seems to be the real issue with it) but hopefully it'll be fixed when it returns to sale.
Yep, did a full system upgrade about a year ago, using a 780GTX and thought I'd have it for a while longer after being made redundant but just found work again after a couple of month so if it works out I'm looking at getting a 980.
Not quite the case, while it's true if the Alien sees you your dead (although the flamethrower can be used to stop him killing you outright) there are still humans that will attack you and also the Working Joe androids will sometimes need putting down and these encounters are what the weapons...
I can't say I found any part annoying. When I was killed I knew why it was my own fault and the combat is supposed to be ineffective so that it's something you use as a last resort and something that rarely pays of.
