Whether or not he meant for his apartment to catch on fire... What do you think is gonna happen when you lose consciousness with a lit charcoal grill inside with you? That alone was a selfish thing to do.
And although I won't pass judgement on him for his decision to take his own life, I...
What's funny is you're wrong. Their last update has given many people memory problems at the menu loading screen... And Valve hasn't said anything about it, let alone (*gasp*) fixed it.
Nope, Valve has essentially sat on their fat(yes, Gabe, you're fat), lazy asses and done nothing about it--in fact, after this last patch, it's happening for many people, including me, at the initial menu loading screen, every time. GG Valve. :frown:
I'm not sure if SP2 came with .NET 1.1 (I had it beforehand), but I do know there has been an update for it since I upgraded (SP2). In any case, only the Catalyst Control Center requires that; You can still get the ones with the regular control panel (assuming this is your problem, which I'm not...
Didn't fix crap for me, in fact it's giving me problems... Ctrl-v:
I'm having a problem with this damned new update as well. Whenever I go to Play CS:Source, is says it can't find the file filesystem_steam.dll (I know where it is, I just don't know where it needs to be, that would be a help)...
It's also called a lot of people probably lie so they can appear cool. Mine, too, is merely decent-XP 2400+, 9800 Pro, 512MB, etc, but I haven't had any problems with anything and until I do it'd be pointless to upgrade.
Add to that, what are your system specs? That's a hard-to-pass-up deal on the 5900, and it may be worth it if you get that and also upgrade something else with the BB gift certificate...
Windows repair, as in you put the CD in to boot off of, get to the point where you're about to install windows and it tells you that you have a copy already installed and asks if you want to repair it? Nope, I've done it 3 times.
In Doom 3, I'm able to run at 1280x1024 at medium, and it's playable (a bit choppy in big firefights). I have an XP 2400+, 512MB PC2700, and a 9800 Pro, so you should definetly be close to me in performance. That said, I don't have the slightest idea what could be wrong... Are all your drivers...
Alright, good job, that's what I was gonna have you do :)... If the system becomes any less stable at ALL (which it shouldn't), put that setting back.
Case temp pretty much shows up as MB temp in Asus probe (not necessarily the same thing, but the closest measurement you're going to get).
Also, @ pingui: Try lowering the VCore voltage, if you can find it in the BIOS; It'll be under one of the tabs towards the left, around other things involving the CPU. First, I just wanna see what it's set at, just lmk.
