For some reason all the Steam games which run on the Half-Life engine seem to give very choppy gameplay and really low framerates.
I have a 2.4ghz P4 Processor
ATi Radeon 9600XT

On CS:S (which is obviously much more demanding on my system), I usually get an fps of around...
Apparantly the first release of DoD:S will be with Source enabled effects like water and so forth, but at later updates they will change the models/textures etc.,
Well at the moment I still don't have a clue what the correct information is. It seems rather silly to use the old models and then only have Source features like the water stuff and light sources, but hopefully in an update or a mod it will be a total conversion.
Thanks for the link! Interesting read.
I'd have to agree with Malfunction here; I don't really see anyone wanting to take up the position, but it seems like a nice idea nonetheless.

In my experience, when I've double posted, I didn't think it had worked or I had forgotten that I had already posted which meant I had to type out the message again which took 30 seconds/however long the limit it is for posting. Could be a reason why people are still making double posts by accident.
I would much rather play Half-Life: Source first and then play Half-Life 2. However one of the things that has been bugging are the models/textures being used in Half-Life: Source. Some of the screenshots look really stupid in the fact that they have the HL2 Scientists or what not, but then the...
When I bought the gold package off Steam [I'm in the UK] it cost $89.95 for the thing itself, something like $12 for tax and $29.95 for shipping. So in the end I'm paying $135, little more than I expected.
I'm rather confused about this whole situation. Why are Valve even using a publisher [Vivendi] in the first place? Surely they could release it whenever they want using Steam; since it's the whole point that it cuts out the publisher. Have they already signed a legally binding contract or some...
