AWESOME IT WORKS! It just started updating again going from 14 percent to 100 in a minute, and now there are no errors in start up screen anymore but flying birds, I see the guys face in the intro movie, and the people in the train are sitting and standing normal. Thanks big time!

Windows 7 home premium.(legal) 64 bit I think motherboard is MSI MS-7636 Intel Core i3 CPU 2.93GHz. 4 Gig memory 8 Gig videocard 1 Terabyte harddisk, not by far full yet, so that can't be it. I'll try the thing you said, let you know if anything changes.

Hello, I bought / downloaded / installed Half Life 2 through steam. The game works.... a bit. At the start up screen i see little red error words floating around. The face from the intromovie is also replaced with a big red error. In game all npc's just stand with their arms spread...
