Yep, had this bug too solved it by changing speaker settings from surround to stereo.

Not for sure. In single player you can't see yourself so there's no need for a model and everyone knows there's no HLDM, so I wouldn't be suprised if there wasn't a gordon model.

If you get artifacts with a 9800pro open the computer case and clean it up (esp. the fan). That worked for my cousin, who was getting white+red dots after 10 minutes in doom3.

Well to "fix" the memory problem load CS 1.6 alt+tab and load cs:s you won't see the menu but try clicking things where it should be. You can't join any servers only create one. Well, this sucks but better than nothing.
