OK, maybe that is reading too much into it. I don't know though, this happens a lot ("leaks", "special announcement in 3,2,1....", how do you expect people not to read into things like that?) To be fair though, I was not the first one to imply that he was being coy. But whatever.

Call me a crank if you wish, but this kind of trite from Valve n' Crew is no longer funny. I wish they would just understand that.

No offense but that is a pretty dumb attitude to have after the Winter Fail and Steam's downright dog-poop customer service. The fact that Valve is so absolutely terrible at communication does not help. That attitude might work well in isolated Game development, but not when you are running the...

I definitely seems like something that will benefit Valve in the long run... it does not seem like a benefit for third-party developers. And where the customers are concerned, the only people I imagine being hurt by this were those people who enjoyed the anticipation accociated with the sales...

More likely an accidental leak than a deliberate one. How many Valve followers (let alone HL fans) actually dig into code? How many of those actually share this information with most of the players who don't? But... I nitpick. I'll say what I said in the other thread. Boring leak is boring...

Yeah... not personally attacking anyone here, but I am tired of this "Oh look, a Half-Life reference in a line of code!" I does not impress me anymore. No advertising stunt, no leak... impresses me anymore. I don't care, and I will never care, till I actually get the ****ing game.

The victory will be decided when one "side" actually builds a functioning mech. My bet is on The West. The US military budget is ridiculous... and I would not put it past them to waste time, labor, and money on a mech if it meant more killing power national security.

I wonder how this effects file sizes. Surely it takes a lot of data. The technology seems limited to environments that you can take pictures of though... unless I am missing something. If so, that seems very limiting to world-design.
