I just downloaded the 1.12 patch and now everytime after a map loads and I get into the "kit choosing" screen, the cursor freezes up and I can't do anything. In the background behind the kit choosing screen the game continues though (only the cursor freezes, not the entire game). This prevents me from entering any game and playing. Before I downloaded th patch, BF2 worked fine. Does anyone know what the problem is?

I havn't had a chance to play with the patch yet....I've heard of this problem before though. It was with the 1.03 patch. Try searching google for it.

It's a pre-patch bug. You have to go to options and reset the controls.

lol, no.

My parents think that I'm addicted to video games and so I promised that I wouldn't play them till December 5th. *(a month)

That and my computer is malfunctioning and I can't repair it or my parents will think that I'm trying to break the above promise.

the patch wont even install for me, after a while it says "PATCHING. PLEASE WAIT" and it stood there for over 20 minutes until i cancelled

I had that too. I went upstairs and went out for dinner after letting it install... then when I got back home an hour later it was still on that message. I canceled it and it seems to have installed correctly, but my cd key is invalid now. Maybe its an unrelated problem though.

Have you tried disabling your virus protection and then installing the patch? I had the same problem and it helped.

Hey, it's Korea, you get to skip military service if you're internet addicted ^_^

Edit: Oh, and I seem to be having problems of my own with 1.12, when I try and log in to my account the game just freezes at the login screen, there's the contacting server... (or whatever that was) message but the main game screen never loads.

i just installed BF2 after having formatted a few months ago and even download that new 1.12 update patch and applied it.

i retrieved my account and click on MP and it tells me to update.
WTF?
i ignore that and i try to join servers with the same version and no servers show up.

:(
any help?

...please? :P

If i were you i'd try unistalling all of BF2 and doing a full reinstall... may or may not fix your problem.
Or just try running the update again see if it recognises it a second time?
