100 People Killed

In Iraq. Kinda old news. Apparently militants unleashed a day of violence exploding bombs throughout Iraq. But this excerpt caught my eye.

At dawn on Monday, gunmen with silencers fitted to their weapons drove up to checkpoints across Baghdad, killing at least seven police and army officers.

I blame American TV and their glorification of drive by shootings for this.

Its really silly/scary how these people can kill their own without hesitation. And for what? To send a message? How can you send messages to anyone when their all dead?

I think at this point the terrorists in Iraq are just trapped in a nihilistic mind state. it's like they don't even know the reason they are killing anymore. they kill because they can.

They are sending a message that Al Qaeda is not dead as the U.S. would like us to believe, they want to show they can still kill people whenever they want to.

they aren't sending a message to the victim, but to everyone else. a show of force, power, that they are serious, etc etc.
