So... I've got a computer to build here. Or at least to research. Unfortunately it's not going to be my computer, but rather my cousin's computer. The one that's in the marines.
He has about a 1000-1200 dollar budget, and wants a good computer. This is going to need to include a monitor I believe, and perhaps windows vista even depending on how much it costs compared to windows XP home when it comes out.
I've been away from the computer market for so long, I don't know quite what is out there. There are a lot of confusing graphic cards and processors... I don't know what is the fastest really. The last time I researched and bought a computer, was when I got mine. That was back in september of 2003, and I did some heavy research then.
I suppose I could do the same now, and probably will, but I figure I could use the easy resource that is you guys, and get some opinions and feedback on various components that I can use to build a great computer for that price. Or, all things considered, maybe even build a better one if I can convince him to save a bit more money, since the monitor and operating system are going to take a decent chunk out. I know they did with my PC.
