120 seagate barracude 8mb catch at 7200 RPMS or a 36gb (MAYBE 76gb) WD Raptor at 10,000 rpms

Which one would you choose?

the seagate, far more space, far less noisy. Alright, you get more speed with the raptor but they are noisy as fook.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...............................

Get the raptor. Also, they're not loud at all, I own one, I should know. I hear the fans, not the hd.

WD Raptors are like sports cars. They are extremely fast and if you only need a one or two person seater then they might be an option for you.

Most of the other drives are pretty quick as well, since they are all limited to your desktop applications which aren't as demanding as Workstation or Server needs, and they give you a lot more storage if you need it for a better price.

It's all personal preference.

Obviously I liked the speed and didn't care for the lack of space. ;)
I'd either choose between the Segate (Barracuda) or Hitachi (Deskstar 7K250) drives if you want more space and less cost. Link

I still think 36gb might be to small.. and the 76 is pretty expensive
