1984, great movie, great book.

Great inspiration for HL2, I feel.

Freaky film, especially when that Kid wearing a top-hat pulls out a knife and looks like he's got the F*cking munchies...Mouth, open wide style

But how-come was that banned, or was it, it was only a 15 in the UK was it?

My trial runs out today, boo. Soon as I've got £9 going spare, I'll be upgrading, it really is an fantastic app, and cheaper than buying a TV guide every week.

get it through my link, its only fair :)

Really good support too, glad I ended up paying for it (was getting annoying looking for ways to get around the trial) lol

But is the film half as good as the book? I mean the book isnt exactly action packed, so is it actually a decent film?

Watched that Tv They Tried To Ban and Evil Dead afterwards. Twas a good night...

Well the film is good, but like the book, its no action film, more a thinker than a do-er.

If you want 1984 with action, watch Brazil which is great/weird, or watch someone playing HL2 hehe.

Mack and Mesh :D Ill most likely skip it. Bowling for Columbine and American History X are films that make you think, but American History X just kept me hooked so I HAD to watch it, its become one of my favourite films since, and Bowling For Columbine just intrigued me as a documentary. Apart from that not really into big thinking movies, although I cant really think of some others.

The Idiots is a Danish movie, i know a girl who vomitted when she watched it :D ... Extremely strong movie, not for fragile minds

seen it before, its pretty basic really, found it more an example of the pathetic class (the ones who don't know their born), but then I used to be a fan of Lars Von Trier, until I found out some of the things he would do.

Kids bothered me more than the idiots did though. Just another example of why kids should be grown in boxes :p

Ok mate I will try and remember.... if you're really bothered, email me in about a week thomashiles at gmail dot com

1984 was on like a month ago on Channel 4. Wonder why they're showing it again.

I saw the Evil Dead last night, and it's almost the worst movie i've ever seen in my entire life. I kept telling myself "it was made ages ago, give it some leeway", but it just wasn't happening.

Can't wait for Clockwork Orange and Dark City, when are those 2 on?

excellent, thanks :D

I just had another look, apparantly there's a freeview STB you can get the same way, but I think thats more like a raffle type thing, so I'm sticking with the extra time, seems more useful.

I dunno if you can with the trial but download the beta versions their working on, usually some neat features hidden away in those and they do seem to work well, not buggy like a lot of beta things are.

Evil Dead was better than I remembered.

Dark City (see above)

Clockwork Orange, a few days I think.

no good films for me..

These are all on Channel 4, you've got that im sure. And Dark City is on sci-fi aswell as five.

yay!

i love channel four!
Channel 4 can be good sometimes. Whatever they put on filmfour usually ends up on it eventually, and they tend to avoid shredding things to pieces like the other channels do.

They showed that fun little short film again last night too, with the scientist who goes back in time only to become part of the dig he'd gone back in time to investigate. I liked it.

channel four's definitely the best channel for films.

i somehow always end up watching the 'five family movie' on sunday..

1984 and the movie Brazil should be watched together ...personally I prefer Brazil to the movie version of 1984 (the book was better ...obviously)

At the same time!? But they're confusing enough already!

Can't believe I didn't spot this sooner, finishes just before Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Coolies :D
