1UP had the chance to sit and chat with project lead Michael Booth asking him about the Left 4 Dead's development.

1UP: Can you talk about what you guys will be trying for with the downloadable content? A whole new movie campaign? Inserting more acts within existing movies? More Survivors?[br]

MB: We're exploring several possibilities right now. There are certainly no shortages of interesting ideas in survivor-horror folklore.

Yes it really does sound like Turtle Rock Studios really had a great zombie game yet it wasn't epic. They played it safe and didn't do everything they wanted. Now they are with Valve though it sounds like they really are making it the game they want. People complain the lack of content but I think it's just their limited resources at the time. 2009 should be a stellar year with DLC and mod wise I think.

I wonder what the DLC will turn out to be, I guess new maps is the most obvious one, but it leads me to wonder, with a game like TF2 new maps can easily be churned out a steady rate due to the fact they can all get away with using the same art assets, yet with L4D each of the existing campaigns has its own batch of textures and models that set it apart, there is no shortage of ideas for new enviroments, but its gonna take some disk space. It is nice knowing the game is gonna grow though, I wonder what it will look like at the end of this year.

Saying that I have hit a slump with the game, my friends cant be assed to play now, and public servers can be a bit hit and miss, esspeacialy in versus mode, I cant seem to get a game where people stay for more than one map of the campaign. Its just the nature of all online games I guess, its just you dont usually notice with 16+ players.

Good thing Valve are now with turtlerock!

Left 4 Dead is an awesome game, but it still needs some tweaks. I believe Valve will be getting back on track to getting TF2 class updates every 2 months

But yeah some new campaigns in Left 4 Dead would be awesome!

What's the deal with Terror-Strike? I thought that's what Left 4 Dead was going to be called, but now I'm not so sure.
