2007 Next Gen Sales

Well, I have been checking http://nexgenwars.com/ a hell of a lot recently as its a great website. I'm not sure how accurate the values actually are. But its so nice to see Nintendo Wii tripple the sales of the PS3.

I'm actually suprised PS3 managed to get so many sales because there general selling price (not asking price) on ebay is bellow average to what you would pay in the shops. While on the other hand the demand and selling price for the Wii is having it reach over ?100 more than the asking price in shops.

People always say that the Wii has started strong and will fade. But in my opinion so did the PS3. It started stupidly strong amoung the hardcore following. But thats all they have at the moment because most others have gone to the 360 or the Wii. Every single one of the best games on the PS3 at the moment is on another console and in most cases its a lot better. The only game that is fairly good and retains been exclusive is Resistance Fall of Man. But even that game has shocking AI.

Anyway ye, just another topic with a bit of information for everyone to read everyone elses rants.

People mean that the Wii will fade in sales ~3 years from now or so. The Wii isnt built for a 7-10 year lifecycle as the PS3 and 360 are so Nintendo will prolly come out with a new version of the Wii in a couple of years.

If they figures are half correct, i find it rather refreshing that the Wii has sold nearly 1/3 of what the Xbox360 has and it hasn't been out for even half as long. Still, obviously with christmas period and stuff, the Wii would sell alot compared to the PS3 with it generally being a child's console and the Wii mote looks 'cool' to a child giving the impression it's virtual reality.

Like VictimOfScience says wait until this christmas. Just wait until the Wii and PS3 have had a chance to settle, then things might look different.

On a side note, i dont even consider myself a fanboy anymore to Sony..i loved the PS2, but i can't afford a PS3 unless i give up going out socialising for the next 3 months. I own a Xbox360. Console games are way too expensive. Most of the games on them have no depth, are dull...and last about 2 days. You can't really 'do' much on them.
