24: 3rd Season Discussion (BIG SPOILERS)

I have a strong feeling this thread will be a short and unpopular one...but

I just finished watching the 3rd season of 24...and I was floored by the show to the last second.

Who here has seen the whole season? What did you guys think of it?

Who else here was just waiting for Jack's nose to bleed in the final seconds (I don't want it to happen...but I thought they were gonna leave us with another cliffhanger ending like the 2nd season)?

With so many people either dead or in prison...they're gonna have to bring a lot of new people in next season...I'm interested to see how that'll work out.

One thing I give 24 credit for...is having balls. No other show kills off or puts major players in prison like this. It's the only show I can think of that has the audience truely guessing what's coming next.

I felt bad when Jack had to kill Chappelle...the guy had no life outside work...no friends...no family he wanted to contact...he was his job just like Jack... - Another thing that caught me offguard was the capture of Michelle Dessler. I never expected them to put her in a near death situation where the audience thought she was going to die...then get her out of it..then put her right back into another one.

I never watched an entire season (or show for that matter) of 24, I found it a bit repetitive...

It was a great ending. I'm glad there was no cliffhanger this time; and dammit, Keifer's such a great actor, that last scene in the car was probably the most memorable from the entire series.

Two things really annoyed me though:

1. Saunder's daughter was such a Deus Ex Machina. She was the only leverage they had with him, and it was just out of the blue. It was almost insulting.

2. Saunder's being killed by Gail's wife. What?! He deserved a better exit than that by far.

I enjoyed it overall -- I'm definately picking it up on DVD.

god dammit its so tempting to read them spoilers, but over in the UK we got about another 3 hours left of jacks day so i dont know what happens. It ends at 1pm right?? the one last night finished at 10am.

I watched 3rd season and I was so impressed. I loved it.

I've seen all three seasons now...

I aquired Season 1, which was my least favorite, then I saw Season 2 on TV, which was my favorite Season, and Season 3 right in the middle.

But I loved all three Seasons.

I loved that car chase when they were chasing that guy with the virus. So awesome. I mean it wasn't much of a chase...but it was so perfect..the music and the expressions on all of their faces

I first started hearing about 24 while I was working at Mr. Movies. I heard how it was so great and it was cool...but I kinda ignored it. I didn't wanna jump into it in the middle of the season and I just didn't have time.

The next summer though I noticed we had the dvd's...and I was kinda bored so I picked the first disc up. Watched the episodes...and went back for the next 3 discs the next day. I was hooked right off the bat. I rented and watched the 1st season to the end.

I later bought the 2nd season the moment I saw it come to dvd on ebay for like $35. I've watched it twice by myself...my brother has watched it and now my sister has it with her. The first night I wanted to watch it with her...she agreed to one episode and one episode only. I told her she was gonna watch at least 2...but she disagreed. When we finished the first episode, I just looked over at her...her face was straight...then she slowly grinned...ok..just one more. She said it again 45 minutes later

Those of you who haven't seen it...I highly suggest you at least rent the first disc of season 1 or 2. Season 2 is better...but then you'll miss some things from season 1 that tie in with 2 & 3 (although you could watch them all and not be completely confused - you'd just be wondering how Jack is so close with the president and such).

I couldn't keep up with the first season, but then the magical gift of TiVo was bestowed upon me, and now it is easy to watch them That reminds me, I still need to rent the first season...

24 is currently my favourite show on the air for action drama. I have season 2 on dvd, because it's my favourite so far, but season 3 comes in fairly close.

But...

What the hell is Tony doing? Good job Jack pwned him out of his directors job.

never started watching it, so i can't really start now.. oh well. tv sucks, i used to like "the shield" but even that started sucking.. are there any good tv programs left on network/basic cable? i can't really think of any.. :|

Catch up on 24...you'll be glad you did.

If they kill Jack...I'll be so pissed off. I feel the show would lose popularity...but I'd still watch it...but it wouldn't be nearly as good and the writers must know that.

At the very end of the season when Jack was inside his car...I was praying that his nose didn't start bleeding because the writers have done a good job at getting me attached to the character of Jack Bauer and if he died...that'd be just plain sad.

My friend came in when I was watching an episode for the first time in the 2nd season a while back-

Friend:"Oh...24 again huh? You're nuts you know that? How many episodes today?"
Me:"This is my 6th"
Friend:"Jesus...what's going on with that nuke?"
Me:"It blew up"
Friend:"What the hell? You're kidding right?"
Me:"Nope"

My friend sat and watched part of it then left because he knew he was gonna get hooked and he had to study for his finals.
