Some of you might recall a previous post by me about whether or not to upgrade my 2600 TB to a 3200 Barton. The difference in specs was almost un-noticeable, so I wondered exactly how well it would push past my 2600.
As of now I am in the "Burn-In" process for my brand new 3200 Barton. From what I can tell so far is that the change from 333FSB to 400FSB makes a pretty big difference in overall load times. I expect to see more improvements in games and apps, as the CPU's new speeds unfold I might come back and post the noticeable differences.....if not too busy playing with it
As for installation, it was a breeze, my mobo offered full support clear up to an OC'd 500Mhz Bus. The Silver 5 compound was well worth the $15 and my existing shim fit without crossing any topside pins or jumpers. As for the boot, it failed 3 times, found out that my RAM timings were set for my 2600TB (I always use Expert mode not optimal, so it wasn't automatic). Had to reset my BIOS and redo my RAM timings manually....arg.
All in all, after this 160hour burn in period I think this CPU will pay off.
