2K or xp

first off go ahead and answer the poll then if u would, plz tell me the difference between 2k and xp which one is better for gamers and which is more optimized or somfin.:dozey:

I dunno, ive been using XP since last year, and before that i was using 98 SE. I would think that XP is the best, but i guess it depends on the uses of your comp.

jager are there any performance jumps or anything to that matter with games? does it boot up faster with xp? wut are the likes and dislikes from each since u have used both

XP for me, lovely. Jumped from Windows ME (ew). I have switched back to Win 98 on a few occasions since then, and it just doesn't compaire.

I use XP Pro for the convenience, when I get a new PC I'll probably run Win2k.

As far as games, I can't really tell a difference... though I never did any benchmarks either. I like XP, but I really don't use any of the features it has that 2000 doesn't have. The only XP feature I use is ClearType. I'm thinking about switching back to 2000 Pro, since I already made my 2000 Pro SP4 Slipstream disc. I'll post some benchmarks if I decide to go back to 2000.

as long as u have XP SP 1 your all good cause when u just buy XP without makin the upgrades...u'll have serious problems...

co-incidently, is anyone else having problems with the forums saying you are banned, but it lets you in after like 12 refreshes? My prob seems to have gone away.... but I don't know

Win 2k3 server, standard edition. not loaded with bloatware like xp and slimer than 2k. I use 30mb less ram just sitting in windows than in xp pro
