I've been wondering if I should get a 32 GB SSD that will contain my OS, swapfile and frequently used apps as well as important documents (due to SSD's reliability). And if so, which?

From what I've seen, small SSD's are quite affordable now, but I haven't been able to find one in particular that I've heard good things about. Can you guys recommend me any SSD's that are under 100 eurobucks?

Cheap SSDs don't offer good performance as a bootdisk. Write speeds are still significantly slower than HDDs.

So what would be the bottom price of an 32 GB SSD that offers performance gains over a 7200 RPM HDD?

If you use a SSD then make it hold data that won't change (like an OS install) and not a page file...
The SSD will start to become not usable with repeat writes on those sections after awhile. Plus if you use it just to read from (boot, launch apps) then you can ignore it's terrible write performance and enjoy the read performance with a good SSDs (as apposed to the sucky SSDs that don't read quick at all).
