Step right up folks, and witness these beautiful 3D Half-Life pictures! Just make sure your eyes are atleast 1 foot away from your screen, then cross your eyes till the images merge. Happiness for all!

p.s. I especially like the elevator one, because you can see the "floating glass" texture, and it looks trippy

Okay here I made one of the elevator so that you don't have to cross your eyes, but look through the picture (like magic eye)

I used to be kewl at doin those magic eye things...but this urgh...it dosent even work

The hell? thats just 2 screenshots beside echother... what the hell am i supposed to do ?

I saw the first ones but the last one you made works a lot better for me.

You don't cross your eyes to look at those, you spread them. ack. I can overley them maybe 75%, but I can't possibly get them to line up. Same deal with magic eyes, except they work with interlacing the image. That's why they're not textured, they're all funny random noise. Don't be upset if you can't do the first images there, They're next to impossible without a lazy eye or sticking your finger in your eye to separate the images. I'm going to look at the supposedly more 'magic' one now.

For the second elevator one it works better if you're farther away from your screen.

Here, I made a genuine stereogram of a:
(select this text if you give up: It's a Xen Slave. )

Am I the ONLY one that can do this? come on peopllle

yo fictitious, it says it at the bottom of your picture :P

Google: stereogram software. I had the .3ds file floating about so I made one for the hell of it.

Damn you, don't try to mess with my eye...yes, EYE!

****en "magic eyes"...
I can't do it...stupid right eye gone blank....

Those double screenshots aren't working for me, but will's magic eye is cool.
Do you need a 3d model to make it work?

Most stereograms use a 2d heightmap to work, and the easiest way to generate a heightmap is with a 3d model. The software I found (stereogram studio or something) tried to import a .3ds file but failed, so I had to produce the heightmap. Despite the fact that magic eyes look 3d, they really are all 2d. The 3d effect is purely an illusion, because your eyes are in 'distance focus' mode, your brain decides that the image must have depth - and that's what you see. Cool stuff.

Isn't any "3D" image you see actually 2D? Like, always an illusion?

Try PLAYING Quake 3 like that... I'll see if I can find a link to that mod.

EDIT: Found it! Oh yeah... almost forgot... you cross your eyes with this one so it should be a lot easier.

your 3d pics are pretty cool, i think it works better if your head is farther away from the screen than a foot though... you have to cross your eyes much less than that. oh and, owie i can't focus on the screen now haha.

At first I was thinking " Jesus this is stupid"........but then I got them all to work and this is freakn' awsome!

And the steriograph thing was cool to. I saw somthing at first, but then when i read what it was I saw it really easy :)

Ok I tried that quake3 thing, and it's really cool, but since it goes across from one side of the screen to the other, I need to sit farther back, but I have to sit so far back that I have to wear glasses! Kindof annoying since I use headphones

But hey, once it works, verry sweet
Ofcourse, it's not very good for such a fast paced action game like quake 3. How hard do you think it would be to make a mod like this for HL? Probably easier for HL2... Can you imagine though, having to see the ichthyosaur come at you from the dark depths in 3D?! That would be awesome

Just buy that new LCD monitor that displays a 3D image to the person sitting directly in front of it (no glasses required)... or get some of those 3D glasses. Then you won't have to cross your eyes. After I quit playing StereoQuake my eyes kept wanting to cross, so I don't play that for extended periods anymore.

Those 3D monitors are good, but I don't know if they're actually being sold yet, and they currently have a very narrow viewing angle...

arrr, i cant do this. there was a book in the library like this... i could do about 50% of them (they looked like the 1 fictios will posted) but i cant remember what the trick was. it wasnt to cross ur eyes it was to hols the page clost to ur eye, stare through the pic and move the pic away very slowly or something.

Nah, it's just that in littleb's you have to cross your eyes, in mine you have to spread them. It's all about being in control of your eye's focus.

Don't revive old threads. Even if it has Brian Damage in it.

I can see it fine, you have to cross your eyes so it seems like your bringing the two pictures together to make a third one between them.

I've seen some like this before only they were bigger and they were from HL2.
