:)

How can you do 2 different video post effects on things (e.g. one glow on one object and a different one on another) and render them in the same scene, AND, how do you change the colour of the gradient in the glow setup? It's always blue for me :/

Thanks :)

For the multiple effects on different objects you have to assign an "Object ID number". (Right click the object you want to apply the effect to in the perspective viewport and select properties. Then, change the object channel number (put a number between 1 and 65535) you can assign the same id to multiple objects to get the same glow on those objects. Another method is to use the material id (in the material editor, next to the view texture in viewport button there is a number, 0 by default) it works the same way as the object id except you can only go up to 15 I think, it must depend on the version of MAX you are using... (Don’t use 0)

Now, go in the video post. Click on the teapot icon with the little arrow, choose the perspective view (or camera) then click ok. Now, deselect "Perspective", if it is highlighted. Click on the add filter button. Select the effect you want and click ok. It is now added to the queue. Double click on the filter you just added and go into the setup options. "Object ID" is already 1, but you can change it to whatever you put into the Object id properties. The "effect id" is linked to the "material id". Change the settings as you want them to be and click ok.

The last step is to output the result (into a file). Again, make sure nothing is selected. Click on the image output button. Click on the file button and save it as a .bmp file. Click on ok.

Finally click on the "running character" button to execute the sequence. The final result will be saved on your disk.

Enjoy :)

It just picks the font out of the general fonts map in Windows, so any font that's available in Word or whatever, is available in 3dsmax.
