3DS hacked in day 1 after the release date

Not really, I mean it was made to emulate the DS so getting it to run regular DS games is no big deal since the R4 is indistinguishable from a DS cart. If they start pirating 3DS functionality, then you can say its hacked

I assume it does, since the carts will be the same. I think?

That would be the equivalent of Nintendo cutting its own throat since their piracy problem is already one of the many reasons the wii/ds is where third party developers go to die.

The initial 3ds carts will be 2 gigs so no way they can be the same.

It won't take long for those to get hacked too. It's just a matter of time.

Why does this sort of stuff still make the news? Shouldn't we all just start assuming this shit will happen within the week of it's release? And I mean that + or - a week, since usually shit gets hacked before its even out.

I'll call it news once something big gets hacked 2+ months after its released. Then I'll be impressed with somebody. Right now its like a 20 year old asshole kicking the shit out of a 12 year old asshole on a weekly basis. Its not impressive or interesting to me in any way.

Nintendo actually did make a big deal about their anti piracy this time though. They even have an OS on the damn thing, this feels like it might present as much of a challenge as the PSP, for whatever thats worth

Agreed. I would be surprised if a console doesn't get hacked 2 months after its released. PS3 was very good at resisting for years, but that was an excpetion, in my opinion.
