3G iPod - Worth anything?

I just ordered a new battery for it from ebay because I planned on keeping it, but the new 30GB video iPods are only $299 now so I am considering picking one up when I get my paycheque. So I was just wondering if a 3rd generation iPod would be worth anything, with a new battery in it of course.

It still works fine and is in reasonable condition. I searched ebay for 3G iPods but all I found is pages and pages of accessories.

They seem pretty rare now, so I was thinking it might be worth something - or I could hold onto it and maybe someday it'd be considered a bit of a collector's item.

I'd probably sell it if I could get $100 for it.

It's not worth the materials used to make it.


I dunno, though, you could always put it on eBay for $50 to start and see if it goes anywhere.

You could get a Zen Vision W *which plays videos with is deliciously awesome screen for cheaper at 30 gig.
