Is your dual GPU SLI rig not quite powerful enough? Then why not throw four (Yes, four) GeForce 6800 Ultras into your system? lol

It appears that the company has made significant progress, as the first picture of such a solution has reached our offices. The board, currently named "GA-8N-SLI Quad", shows four PCI Express slots that can be occupied by SLI-compatible graphics cards. According to sources, Gigabyte found a way to combine two nForce4 SLI chipsets on one platform. Interestingly, the board integrates two different versions of the chipset - the nForce4 SLI Intel Edition (Crush 19) represents the Northbridge, the version for AMD processors is used as Southbridge.

The board will only be able to carry Pentium processors using the socket 775. Sources told us that Gigabyte is currently testing the 4-GPU board and is likely to enable two configurations. First, the GA-8N-SLI Quad will be able to work with two Gigabyte 3D1 dual-GPU cards and make an additional three PCI Express slots available. The second option is to use single-GPU SLI graphics card in each of the four slots. This translates to a support of either two x16 or four x8 PCI Express slots.

Thats just crazy lol... think of the power you'd need to get all them sli cards working!

Now thats just crazy! You're looking at about $2,000 just for the graphics cards. If I had a boatload of money, I wouldn't even consider doing something like that until UT2007 or Gears Of War came out. Seems like its really overkill for the time being.

I'm thinking of doing it with 2 gfx cards. I can get them pretty cheap at trade prices :D

Oh there's no way I'll use that MB then, AMD for me! :D

Heh same here, AMD All teh way! Just noticed that you have the links for the steam file validation in your sig Devvo, can never remember them!

Talk about bandwidth overload on crack!! I have a theory..what if the framerates are so high, that the monitor explodes, or what if this is Nvidia's plan to take over the world, or what if....yeah.

How bizarre, one chip is the nforce4 sli intel and one is the amd version. Both on the same board. What if they could go with 2 amd nforces, or go the other way around.

It's possible...Iwill has done it with their dual optie boards.
