$400 limit for video card

ok, I just need some help on fining a good card that will not surpas a $400 limit online or retail store. It is for my friend who is building a new PC, but all we need is a vid card.

He hates nVidia, always has because he owns one and it seems pretty crappy unfortunately, he is looking for an ATI card. Preferably 128MB with a VPU not GPU and 8x/4x.

I suggested to him the 9600pro, any good?

9600Pro is very good. Proabably best bang for your buck. 9600XT only adds a bit of performance and sometimes more cost than it is worth.

For 400$, why not buy a 9800 Pro 128mb then?
They have them for 299$ at Compusa right now (Not on sale). That is below cost (349$).
