4x 8x Help a confused noob :(

For some reason my card is only running in AGP 4x and its a 9600xt so I know it supports 8x but I cant get it to run in 8x, I don’t know 8x is any better or what’s the benefit is of running it in that, I’m a noob to this stuff so if anyone could help me that would be great! Oh by the way my motherboard is an Asus P4S8X.

Barely noticeable, maybe a frame or 2 better, but not by much.

your motherboard needs to support 8X agp

edit: I just looked it up, your mobo does support 8 x agp
