I finally finished putting my new computer together, and got all the drivers installed, and all the fun stuff is out of the way, heres a quick rundown of the specs
AMD3200+
X800XL
1024MB RAM corsair
I also bought a set of logitech 5.1 speakers. They all seem to work fine, when I test the sound on them through the "Sound Effect" program, surround works perfectly. But in Half Life 2 it's a different story
I have the audio in the game set to 5.1, and I only get sound from my center speaker and subwoofer. Here's the big problem, it makes the game pretty much unplayable for me, since I don't know what the hell is going on half the time due to not being able to hear anything. When someone talks to me in the game, I have to be looking right at them for it to come out of my center speaker, if I turn to the side the voice will go away, and I can't hear anything. So obviously the surround sound is THERE, but it's not coming out of the speakers. I could care less about the rears, but the side speakers are pretty important because half the time somebody will be telling me important stuff offscreen, and I wont hear any of it.
Cliff notes: The surround sound works fine, just not in the game. Any ideas?
