I recently ponied up for a 5.1 speaker system for my ABIT NF7-S 2.0
got the logitech z-5300.. all I can say is WOW..

BUT, Now that I am running 6 channels of sound not 2 onboard the mobo,
am I loading down the mobo too much? My benchmarks dont change at all but in some games the sound is choppy and sounds like the Soundstorm MCP-T can't keep up.

In D3 this problem is REAL bad, also drops out completely on occasion too!
Farcry and Painkiller seem to do better.

I have found that moving the slider "hardware acceleration" under advanced audio properties seems to fix it, but I have to move the slider every time I play which doesnt make sense either.

My system has plenty of guts, I should not be having this problem or have to adjust anything to get 6 good clean channels, IMO

what gives?

after some reading it seems that D3 has some weird sound problems going on.
is anyone else having 5.1 sound issues with ANY game they are currently playing.
especially those of you w built in mobo sound?

There will be a slowdown with onboard, but that is only with onboard.

i have got 6.1 sound on my pc and it runs ok i guess but i feel it is abit slowler on games to my 5.1 dunno if its cus the way i am doing it or not,
