Well, after getting a 50" Flatscreen, plasma HDTV and kenwood 5.1 hometheatre setup with 5.1 surround sound i was wondering what speakers are good for 5.1 surround sound with computers....The kenwood speakers are for my tv so thats different, but after gettign all that stuff, i though i would like to get some surround sound w/ subwoofer going for my computer as well.

I have an audigy2, so my sound card is definitly up for it. I just dont know what kind of speakers i should get. Right now i have some nice headphones, but i think i want some nice speakers again.

Any suggestions?

Logitech Z-680
Klipsch promedia 5.1
Creative Megaworks 510 (I think..)

These are the high end 5.1 speakers atm...

sigh...didnt know they would go for that much money. Ill have to wait a tad longer.

At least i have a better tv then everyone..ahhh yessss:cool:

id say the Logitech 680s are your best bet.
extremly good sound, thx certified, comes with a remote, and more.

hey if you get a 9800pro AIW you can hook it to a hdtv, and it has a remote, and all these TIVO features, like pause live TV and more.

well, im keeping my pc in a different room, but i will definitly hook it up there once and a while to try the speakers w/ my games and play it on a nice ass tv.

or get the slightly cheaper version... the Z-640's?

A price difference of $200 isn't small ;) . It depends if you're an audiophile and use your computer for multiple stuff. I use my computer for games, music, movies and some. So, i thought the pricetag on the logitech Z-680 was justifiable.

Anyway, go over to friends or a store and maybe you can try a couple of speakers and listen how they perform...
