Heres the thing, my mate who doesn't play many games has been given some free games from his grandad(free with his new pc), and hes selling them for £5 each. I got a tenner sitting in my pocket which two do i buy?

Prince of Persia
Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow
Farcry
Hitman Contracts
Deus Ex Invisable War

All for pc obviously, i have a limited knowledge of some of the games, so which are the best to get? I do like FPS's, but i want goodness from them. Any guidance appreciated. :cat:

Far Cry and Hitman: Contracts. Prince of Persia and Pandora Tomorrow are good, but do not under ANY circumstances touch Invisible War.

I have played all of those games, they are all fun but only Splinter Cell has a good multiplayer, so get that one for sure. Deus Ex was pretty good, and it is pretty long.

FarCry, Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow.

both have great SP, and a MP component (as fox said, Splinter cell wins out in that dept)

SP:pT however is not graphically impressive, (especially if you have played SC:Chaos theory) but the gameplay is still Ace.

Far cry if you have a pretty decent rig and hmm, prince of persia or hitman, they're all pretty good tbh.

Far Cry for SURE, and Invisible War, despite how it wasn't much like the first Deus Ex, can be good or bad. I didn't like it at all but some people did.

Prince of Persia
Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow :)

Bit of everything from everyone there...lol

Farcry i feel like i definate get, because its one of the FPS's to have of last year.

Splinter Cell and Deus Ex seem to have most popularity, except for axyon, can someone explain why its so awful, or why it might be worth it.

Splinter Cell or Hitman contracts may be my other option. I guess its a nice decision to have to make from those games!

Far Cry is a good idea considering you're on a FPS forum and it's a passable game at the very least (some rave over it; I'm not so sure...). Haven't played the rest except Invisible War which - when all is said and done - I would rather have not played anyway.

Well if you've never played the first deus ex, get invisible war along with farcry.

I have played the original, not all the way through though.

I have also played hitman 2 silent assassin that was good (don't know much about contracts though)
I have also played the splinter cell pandora tomorrow demo, i thought it looked beautiful
I have also played a farcry demo on a poorer computer, thought it looked good (but hard)
I have not played Prince of Persia (but i have a demo about somewhere, worth an install to check ya think?) nor invisible war.

If i say Farcry for sure, the last option being between Splinter Cell, Invisible War, and Hitman whats the BEST BUY gonna be?

Definently Far Cry.

And the other, either Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow or Hitman: Contracts. Both silent killers, one wears fog-lights on his head, the other has no hair.

dont bother getting Prince of persia if you dont have a controller ..impossible to play with keyboard and mouse

Best buy? still Splinter Cell due to the multiplayer aspect (more replayability), personally I loved the MP component.

Right o, looks like im going for Farcry and Splinter Cell, thanks alot. I have an adapter for my pc that allows me to use PS2 controllers on the pc, but the other games seem more appealing.
£10 for them combined, can't be bad i guess?

btw is the splinter cell multiplayer just like doing a stealth mission with a buddy? Just like two people doing it co-op style or something?

No, it is two spies against two mercenaries. The spies are just like they are in the single player missions, but the mercenaries have a first person view. It is a lot of fun, and real unique.

Invisible War is awful because it's absolutely nothing like Deus Ex. They just made a (shoddy) game and decided not to implement anything that made the original so fantastic. Seriously, just avoid it.

Personally I found FarCry to be the most enjoyable FPS that came out last year by far. Despite the flamage I'll get, I like it immensely more than HL2. I don't really care if anyone or everyone disagrees it's just my opinion.

Therefore I'd recommend FarCry.

Far Cry, and SCPT. Far Cry is only 20 bucks, and PT is only like 30 I think.

Buy all of them.. thats a great line up

Personally, I really enjoyed Invisable War.

I'd go in this order:

Farcry
Prince of Persia (Is it Sands of Time? I LOVED that game)
Splinter Cell
Deus Ex
Hitman
