VictimOfScience said:I am still frankly annoyed with so much negative focus being placed on the US in particular. I know that as the last superpower, we are up for the most scrutiny, but surely there are worse people affecting the world right now. I would certainly like to see a few similar lists:
1) A list of the most wonderful people in the US.
2) A list of the most loathsome people in the world.
3) A list of the most wonderful people in the world.w
All of this negative focus on the US is really starting to get tiresome. And we'll likely have to hear it for another 3 years! Ugh...the horror.
VictimOfScience said:Hilary Clinton should be MUCH higher up on the list.
George Lucas should not even be on it.
Terry Schiavo shouldn't be on it either--sure, she was an idiot, but worse than Bruce Chapman??? Come on...
And Michael Jackson is worse than the BTK killer??? No, no, no.
Still, right on so many counts.

Win.33. Johnny Damon
Charges: Any baseball player with highlights in his hair should be faced with the same penalty system applied to those using performance-enhancing steroids. It’s ruining the game. And if a ball player is going to grow a beard, it should be a Charlie Manson/Thurman Munson scraggle of bushy whiskers, not a neatly manicured and softly conditioned frame for your pretty face. The only thing that got Damon to step into line and quit hair-farming was a 52 million dollar check from the New York Yankees. Boston prayed for the multi-bladed Gillette that officially made him a Yankee to slip while gliding over his Adam’s apple and spill his lifeblood into the bathroom sink.
Exhibit A: Going from the Red Sox to the Yankees is like ****ing the guy that murdered your husband.
Sentence: Killed by barrage of hurled D cell batteries when he takes the field at Fenway next season.
Hopefully we have all learned our lesson by now, but crazier things have happened. Look at Germany in the 30s for instance. :|CptStern said:more than that if the neo-cons retain a stranglehold on the government
No, no--I understand that. It just gets me down, but hopefully if we can get enough people to feel this way, they can vote and change things so we won't have to feel this way again. Nobody wants to be ashamed of their country forever, right?CptStern said:I cant help but comment that while you have somewhat of a point this isnt the case here. This is criticism of americans BY americans.
Yeah, yeah, I know. Its still tiresome, but yes, justified thanks to our radical new (and some not so new) policies. I just wish people would focus a little more on all of the other governments that were f**king up this world apart from us--the US is only part of a much larger problem!CptStern said:The international criticism? well you're going to have to swallow it because it's justified

You realize of course that he wasn't actually voted into office the first time, right? :dozey:CptStern said:yes but this is now that was then ...i think many people are dismayed at the fact that knowing all this Bush was STILL voted into office
I am both angry and ashamed. I am ashamed that so many of my countrymen are flipping idiots that helped bring this country to its knees in the global public's eyes. I am angry that I have to deal with this crap for another 3 years at least!.CptStern said:I dont think you should feel ashamed ..angry but not ashamed.
Ugh, I know--September 11th led to SO MANY policy changes that it staggers the mind! EVERYTHING changed on that one day. I have heard it argued that the next age of man didn't start with the turn of the century, but rather with those attacks because the world is such a radically different place than it was before, just like with WWII. As the world's only superpower, we have had a lot of adjusting to do in order to acclimate ourselves to the new climate of war (which will be the climate here on Earth for a long long time to come). No longer can a large, relatively immobile but mighty military machine be enough--we not only need advanced technology, but we need an agile force of highly-trained and effective units that can be dispatched anywhere on the globe in an extraordinarily short amount of time. We also need domestic policy that protects the rights of the citizens, but also ensures their safety. Sacrifices will have to be made on the parts of the policy-makers and the people in order to achieve this balance. Its not happening right now and hopefully the new blood in office this year and in 3 years will help us achieve these goals with a much higher degree of success.CptStern said:yes but you're in the middle of war, and bad things keep surfacing (torture, domestic spying, lies that led to war etc) ..so of course you're going to be in the spot light for a long time to come
CptStern said:I agree with the top 10 although Ann coulter (#27) should have been there instead of michael jackson ..also Robertson should be in the top 5 but I think bush should be tops atm ..everything that comes out of his mouth is just bullshot lately
What, you've never seen a penis before?xombine said:I really didn't need to see that drawing of Pat Robertson.
Hey! Where can I find that! Now that sounds worth reading!Erestheux said:this isn't the Official Guide to People the Public Should Hate

Actually, I did, but somehow I missed her... maybe I should lay off the drugs for a little bit...:dork:Erestheux said:Hahahahahahhaa!
You must not have actually read the list...
Hint: Look at #20.

sorry, I know about |_| that much about... anything.
How is she an idiot?
She wasn't an idiot, she was a vegetable.Mechagodzilla said:Well being braindead didn't help.
She was an idiot for putting her own health at risk for the sake of her distorted body image. But then maybe her parents or friends are to blame if they knew about her eating disorder and didn't get her help. Or maybe society is to blame for making her feel such an insane desire to be skinny. Hard to say, but at the end of the day, she is the one who binged and purged, so she really had the biggest hand in her horrific, slow, and all too political demise.RakuraiTenjin said:What the sam hell.
