512 ram + x800 pro question

I have 512MB of ram, and I am soon upgrading to a x800 pro. Will my ram bottleneck the card? My other specs would be a pentium 4 3.0ghz and a 80 gig hdd.

If you are spending 400$ on an X800 Pro, I would highly recommend making the jump to 1GB of memory by adding a 512MB stick. It will improve your performance overall.

They can be as low as 75$ for a PC3200 stick with Cas Latency of 2.5 to just over 100$ for PC3200 with CL rating of 2.

is it DDR pc -3200? If it is I dont think it would bottleneck it.

you might want to look at a 6800 GT aswell. Overall its a slightly faster card than the x800 pro. Either that or wait for a downclocked 16 pipelines x800xt that ATI currently have in the works to compete with the 6800gt.

don't get x800pro now, wait until november or december, ATI will release the ALMIGHTY X880XT which will run DOOM3 with all max Settings at 60 and over FPS.

How much will that be? The X880 XT, also is it both PCI Express ad AGP compatible?

Funny, my X800 pro ran 60+fps on Doom3 at high quality, probably could run 40+fps on Ultra.....
