I just sent my 6800 Ultra PCIx to EVGA to "Step-up" to this 7800 GTX. For only $100 (approx.) which i thought was a great deal. All reviews I saw showed a substansial boost in performance. I'm so excited:E

I'm passed 90 days from my purchase, and I don't have a PCI-Express system, so if I were to get a 7800GTX, it'd be a bit more complicated than simply swapping a card for a card.

What kind of monitor are you using? Throw that 7800 through an HD set and let it go to town. Not many games support resolutions over 1600 x 1200, but those that do (HL2, for example) are worth it. I run HL2 at 1920 x 1200 and the 7800 runs it flawlessly. You like Doom 3? I run this at 60 FPS with occasional dips to 30 FPS if things get intense.

I have a big heavy 19" dell CRT monitor, i hate lugging it to LANs. But it's a monitor, I'd like to get a better HD LCD monitor though, it'll be much lighter.

My gf is pissed cause she thinks im gonna spend the day playin games since im gettin this new card and ive been talkin about this thing all week lol. I told her of course im gonna give it a test run, but ill see her later tomorrow.

That's bullshit. Just make sure your motherboard has a pci-e port.

There are a crapload of programs that can tell you if you do, so just look around.
