(I considered putting this in the music forum, but I don't think this thread would get the attention it deserves down there. If you think it's best for it to be down there then I suppose it should be moved.)

So, 8 bit music is still pretty alive I'd say. I'm actually just starting to get into it.
I love the arpeggios, harmonics and melodies, which is pretty much what I listen for in regular music anyway. This just seems to be pure arpeggios, harmonics and melodies, which is why I like it so much.

As of now, I listen to a lot of from 8bitpeoples.

What are your favorite tracks/places to get good 8 bit music?

My favorite artist has to be Random at the moment.

(We had a similar thread a while back, but that was just video game music.)

Trash80 is a really good artist.

They did the music for Darwinia.

Also I don't think "8-bit music" is a very correct description. I'd just say retro or something.

And yes this should be in the music forum. Posting threads in more popular sections to get more attention is not ... good.

So be it. It can be moved if needed.

squarewaves can be cool.

This isn't 8-bit music, its just music using square waves exclusively.

I suppose that would be a more specific way to approach it, yes.

However, it doesn't have to be exclusively square waves. For example, Kplecraft has some awesome saxophone incorporated into some of their tracks.

Try and get your hands on "Saskrotch Live @ DrunkeNES". Twenty minutes long and absolutely awesome tbh

Right now any music would be good. Sound is a current no.

Urgh... the colours in that puts me in mind of Mel Gibson's safari or something.
An "appearance" was made in a Burnt Face man episode
