8800GTS 512MB (G92) @ tweaktown

I think we all just hope that the retailers can maintain a healthier stock than the 8800GT. We'll see...

they are by around ?80, I dont think its worth it for the extra 10-15% increase

thanks, I've been waiting for this ...weird that there's a much bigger gap between the GT and the GTS running it at 1600 x 1200 as compared to 1920 x 1200 ..but not in vista ..the differences are about the same in both resolutions: on average 10fps ..might be worth the extra cash but then again it might not: the 8800gts 112sp outperforms the 8800gt in anything higher than 1280 x 1024 but it's not included in these benchmarks. If it performs close to the g92 gts there's not much of an incentive to purdchase the newer card especially when it could be $50-70 more

im still getting a 8800GT, just cant go wrong with that card. Sure this 512MB GTS is better but I wont be able to get my hands on one until Jan 08 at the earliest

I'd rather go for one of the overclocked GTs, myself, and once supply goes back up in a month or two (hopefully), they'll be available for the price they should be, rather than with a huge mark-up.

there are no overclocked cards ..nvidia's yields were so bad that they havent been able to supply card companies with enough cpus for their overclocked cards

been trying to get the evga 8800gt super superclocked for almost a month now and there are none ..the superclocked is somewhat available but that's just slightly overclocked above the reference board

so this 8800GTS 512MN is that LAST 8xxx series card well see, well I hope so. Come on nVidia bring out the 9 series so I can pick up a cheap 8800GT!!

Sounds to me like NVIDIA is purposely holding back chips, then. Performance graphics cards aren't exactly a huge market, and meeting demand shouldn't be any trouble for a company as large as NVIDIA. That's a shady practice if I've ever heard of one.

it just makes no sense that they cant fill orders a month after release ..the 8800gt is still scarce
