Okay, I've got (rather I did have) the spec outlined in my PC below, and while I was aleep it seems my PSU has died and it's taken the motherboard (partially) and the cpu with it.

So tomorrow I'm gonna go and buy a A64 3500+ and a 939 motherboard. Now I know 939 boards are rated at 400mhz memory, but will my 333mhz stuff suffice till I can actually afford the 400mhz (or will it just not work at all)?

Probably a silly Q, but I just want to be 100% sure before I go out and spend £400

Yes. I run an Athlon 64 and MSI board with my PC2700 memory. Although OCed a bit which amazed me how far they went at 2-2-2-5 (192MHz).
