i just ordered a 9800XT 256 i had a 9800 pro 128 i was just woundering if anybody upgraded like this to tell me what kind of a performance boost it gave them thanks

I expect you'll see no or very, very little difference going from a 9800 Pro to an XT.

Hate to say it, but it was a BIG waste of money.

To go from 9800Pro to XT, you need a 9800Pro with an R360 core - R350 cores don't work. Apparently.

Bingo oD1Nz, that is right, you need the r360 code to overclock to a 9800XT, alot of Radeon 9800Pro's sold now have the r360 core.

Can you cancel your order or something? You should really get an X800 pro, a 9800xt is maybe 1 or 2fps better, I hope you can still cancel or something.

yea man heh, or once you get the 9800 XT dont open it and sell it on ebay as new, it will still sell a good amount of money then you can buy a new generation card

defintly a good call. you *might* see 2 fps increase with the other upgrade.
