9800XT vs. 9800PRO

What is the difference between the cards? I know the clock and mem speeds are different but what else?

The 9800XT beats the 9800PRO by nearly 30fps at 1024x768! Is there something weird going on? 30fps is quite a lot.

I just bought a 9800pro and im quite shocked to see how badly the 9800xt beats it. I could probably overclock or bios flash to XT speeds but would that make that big a difference?

Any thoughts welcome.

The 9800XT is ahead of the 9800pro because of it's clock speed and, depending on the resolution and level of filtering, the 256MB.

You can quite possibly OC your card to 9800XT speeds and it will have similar performance. Remember, the 9800XT gains a few things but also a lot in price. Not worth it IMO.

ill have to agree with asus one slight thing to mention is the the 9800xts are based on the 360 core revision where as the 9800pros are on the 350 i believe... they have just improved the AA and AF in the small boost which is why on taht one its better performance...

oh and by the way that review is on a 3800+ A64 cpu test system... so you can safely knock about 20fps of those scores if u have a 3000xp system
