"A Conversation About Race"

the word "racist" gets used too much.

and by people who have no idea what they mean.
Although not helped by being black and white I spouse it was symbolic... Watch it be called racist.

Summary? An hour's a lot of time to chuck into something I have no idea if I care about.

how some people claim that see racism anywhere but they can't give an example and it's about double standards etc.

Ok, I don't have time to watch this whole thing, but I watched the first few minutes and get what he is trying to do here (I think). People think they see racism, for example, when they are the only minority in a room. He is right that this makes no sense. I agree that the term is really a construct and one that is used all-too-well by the government and corporate-owned media that feeds it to us. It is also in the TV and movies we watch where stereotypes are embellished to the point of absurdity. This notion of 'race' or 'racism' in America is all just another way to keep the people divided against each other so that we don't realize that our struggle is their struggle and vice versa. Until we wake up, stop buying into this notion of white vs. black, and understand that it is about class, about keeping the rich and privileged elite wealthy and keeping the rest of us either poor or just not-poor enough to keep us placated and not DEMANDING real change in policy so that the richest 1% no longer hold 80% of the country's wealth. :|
