a couple of HDR questions

I gotta say, that HDR technology is pretty amazing. I have a new thinkpad t 42 (512 RAM, Direct x 9 video card, and 1.7Ghz) but because of the high requirements, i havent been able to play lost coast with HDR. I know I can upgrade my RAM and buy a better video card, but is there any way I can go from 1.7Ghz to 2.9Ghz without buying a new cpu? (I dont know all that much about computers). And more importantly, if HDR is going to be the new standard, can i expect to see the same system requirements for Half Life 3 or do you think that they'll find a way to reduce them before then?

its possible to overclock (raise cpu ghz) if your motherboard allows you to prob 2.1ghz but i doubt 2.9 unless u get some major cooling. also hl3 is supposely using the same engine just with tweaks. but i dont think you will run it very well with your set up and by "dx9 card" are you talking about a nvidia geforce fx card?

Well you can't change laptop components except for adding memory so what ya got is what ya got.
