A drawing and a painting

I've been working on a military theme here... what do you think? there's a lot more, but i don't feel like spamming the forums with mediocre art .

these two i'm happy with. they are both about 40 by 50 inches, the drawing is marker on paper, the painting is oils, charcoal, oil stick, and some other crap on paper.

you should see the stuff going on in my studio courses if you think that's too abstract one of my friends told me it was way too figurative.

In real life white-space is fine....but when i look at on my comp screen it isnt the same.

that's true... it's also nice in person because it's about 4.5 feet tall.

2nd one: It's alright, the style isn't my favorite but its still cool.

white space can be used effectively, but the negative space you have there needs to have something or else the visual weight is not distributed evenly... seriously, like.... here let me show you what i imagined.

Pendragon, i pretty much agree with you. I like things about that painting, but i'm not crazy about it overall... i'm kind of wrestling with my painting right now.

I like both, but I've got to admit I prefer the austere first one to the hallucinogenic second.
