Thought I'd post some skins here that I made, did ask a certain someone if it was okay since their legality is in question, so I'll go ahead.

Bloody hands + Tattoo

My first serious try at a skin, used a set of brushes for some of the splatters, drew the tattoo by comparison. I also made a clean version which has no blood and the skin tone is default as well [ Picture Download ]

Then, some people started asking me for the AK in the clean hands pic, so I published that as well...

Dual tone desert eagle...

Same installation instructions for every .rar file: extract to \cstrike

For those who have seen the skins at another site which shall remain nameless, I am deviouS.dll

And yes, I do admit that some of these skins are easy to make, but I also acknowledge that most people don't bother to learn how.

they look alright. Im waiting for some real good player models tho.

then again, i havnt really started looking.

good job....i wouldn't even attempt doing skins...so i give you credit...but not good enough for me to use ;-)

Love your blood splatter, Love the tattoo, but the change on skin pigmentation is a tad off-putting (imo).. just a tad on the pasty side heh.

other than that, fantastic and I will definately use them.
thanks

edit: the blood splatters are brilliant, really that was a great job.

I've had people telling me that as well (about the pigmentation), I was simply going for something a wee bit more realistic, in terms of what you see everyday ;)

yeah I can see that, and I do agree the pigmentation could stand a shade or two lighter than the default, however the saturation is a wee lacking (it looks more flushed than pale, and with the blood it leads to some kinda "vampiric/undead" look :) )
also, one minor thing about the tat, it seems worn (which is unusual) it looks great, just looks more like a decal that should be on metal.

regardless they look great, definately my taste.
can't wait till the sdk/mod tools are released, so I can jump into the engine for a test spin.

I won't muck about with the models just yet.

oh GOD why did you even TOUCH the deagle skin, it was B-E-A-UTIFUL.

Yeah, it was sexy all silverish. Why dont you make a two tone glock? Like a silver slide but keep the rest of the model black? that would rock imo.

Don't like it, don't download it, that was not constructive.

I was just wondering why you decided to skin the deagle instead of the usp or glock.

I first made a horrible one, and then people asked me to do a dual tone one instead.

Hey DvS - I have GFCScape and vtex... and I exported the model and it's components with GFCScape, but I can't figure out how to export the textures for editing and then reimport them. Can you direct me?

Make sure your .vtf files are in the same folder as vtf2tga.bat

Then bring up the command prompt and navigate to the vtex folder

Then you type vtf2tga Filename1.vtf Filename1.tga

Where filename is, replace with the texture's name.

Importing is just like making a spray.

Nice skins, they can be added to the collection :) I was hoping someone would do a two-tone DE, they look cool.

i cant get the skin to work

Are you using DX 8.1? They have a problem with bumpmapping. If you have 9.0x you should just read the install notes.

yeah i got it to work like ten minutes after i posted that, i would have posted earlier put i was too busy playing with it:) imo It's a little too shiny:/ thats the only problem i see.

You should write a tutorial :D

I'd love to take a crack at this stuff. Like have my name on the guns to truly personalize the game :p great job!
