A galaxy ripped apart

Look, I've already apologized! I said that I didn't mean to rip up that galaxy!
It was an accident, ok!? Can happen to the best of us!
And NO, I'm NOT going to pay the damages!

Accident my arse, I told you not to park your galaxy so close to my Nebula but noooo you just didn't want to listen and now look what you've gone and done. The boss ain't gonna be happy when he finds out, that was his favorite galaxy too. And don't expect us to bail you out, we're off on a day trip to NC-172.

Edit: oh well, I suppose we can be thankful it wasn't so bad, the last time you slipped up you caused the big bang and that made a real mess.

FuSeD, I'm never gonna lend you my Galactic Supercluster, so don't even bother asking :P.

Fen what happened to the rest of your name?
oh-no! I stand still for a minute and one of you teenagers run off with my numbers, grrrr :p

I blame all this on STEAM. ;)

Better not happen in MY lifetime.

Yes, but the boss won't find out unless someone squeals...
Look, I've made this paper-maiche model, he won't know the difference!

Well, if you read it would take anoher 50-80 billion years for this to happen to the Milky Way. Mmmm Milky Way.

it seems like fenric is in uber sarcasm mode today.

i wonder if there is/was any intelligent life in that galaxy, and i wonder what they would have done. watch out, interstellar pikeys coming your way.

I had some friends who lived in that galaxy. Damn. :-(

Some pretty cool software to simulate up to 12 galaxies colliding realtime :D
It can render up to 2 million stars on a decent frame rate (3 fps) but gives the best results with more than 25 million stars which can't be done on a home pc.
But 500.000 stars just to simulate the collision itself is cool too :D

holy f.UCK that's some sweet software. real purdy colours too.

Yeah, try pressing 2 while rendering, it colors the stars dependent from their velocity. Looks really nice. I like it best without motion blur.

Took this picture with 500k stars, with more it would look smoother and more like the pictures on the website, but I don't have the machine for that :)

Too bad we won't see this in our life time. I would give anything to die with my galaxy. I mean come on, looking in the sky, seeing all the wierd things happen. (I have no idea what hapennes, nor can I imagine it.)

i dont imagine youd see much. 4.5 million mph comes by pretty quick once it enters our solar system. id assume that some billion degree hydrogen gas and chunks of other planets would pass over our planet, and engulf it, and probably destroy everything in a couple seconds. would make an interesting 3d wallpaper.

Wow that was mad... I just barely got my spaceship out of there in time! Too bad my camera module was hit by a fragment so I dont have any pictures to show u guys :(
